EDF Renewables designed the project with extensive input from host landowners to work efficiently with their farming practices. The layout also balances the need to minimize impacts on non-participating neighbors. The Sugar River Wind Project meets each of the State and County turbine siting criteria and exceeds turbine setbacks from non-participating residences by at least 119%.
We carefully coordinate the siting of wind farm infrastructure with property owners, and in the event there is any damage to drain tile, we assume responsibility to cover any necessary repairs at any time throughout the life of the project.
We work closely with landowners to ensure that normal farming operations are not disrupted.
At the end of the project’s life, financial securities will guarantee responsible decommissioning and removal of the turbines.
